Franka Robotics celebrates production of 1,000th Franka Research 3 robot

Munich, 13.02.2025 - Franka Robotics, the German research-driven robotics pioneer headquartered in Munich, has successfully produced 1,000 high-performance Franka Research 3 robots (FR3) at Agile Robots' production site in Kaufbeuren. This achievement solidifies the company's position as a world-leading specialist in robotic solutions for research and disruptive applications.

Since its acquisition by Agile Robots in late 2023, Franka Robotics has significantly increased production capacity and improved profitability. The company has benefited from Agile Robots' state-of-the-art production facilities as well as substantial investments in production, logistics and testing space in Kaufbeuren. 

The Franka Research 3 is a world-class, force sensitive robot system that empowers researchers with user-friendly robot features and low-level access to the robot's control and learning capabilities. Renowned for its unique human-like sense of touch, the FR3 is highly sought after by top international universities and research institutes. Its versatility extends to industries such as agriculture and health and fitness, where it is revolutionizing traditional methods and garnering widespread attention. 

Kaufbeuren, located in Bavaria, is home to numerous renowned brands' manufacturing facilities and serves as a hub for industrial production. Both Franka Robotics and Agile Robots produce high-quality robots in this region. In addition to the Franka Research 3, Agile Robots' Yu 5 Industrial, customized for industrial demands, is also produced in Kaufbeuren.
